Planning Reforms to Aboriginal Lands

State Environmental Planning Policy Aboriginal Lands commenced on 6th February 2019. ADW Johnson is proud to have been part of the team that pushed for planning reforms that will now see greater consideration of Aboriginal lands and draws a link between the Objects and Intents of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 into the planning system .

The Policy is about empowering Aboriginal people and introduces a Delivery Framework Model, to assist Local Aboriginal Land Councils in the attainment of economic goals whilst also respecting cultural sites and landscapes as well as environmental values. ADW Johnson looks forward to further assisting Aboriginal organisations to achieve the best outcomes for their land.
