Watagan Park

Watagan Park, a masterplanned estate located at the foot of the scenic Watagan Mountains in Cooranbong, NSW, has been a dream in the making for nearly a decade.

Initiated by Johnson Property Group (JPG), Watagan Park spans 356 hectares, offering a blend of natural beauty and modern convenience. Recognised as a major urban release area by the New South Wales Government, this development is set to accommodate significant population growth.

Watagan Park is approved for approximately 2,500 residential lots, sports facilities, local parks, and a town centre with mixed-use development.

Our Involvement

ADW Johnson has been involved with the Watagan Park project with Johnson Property Group since 2014 and have provided a full suite of services to support the planning, design and construction of the masterplanned community.

Our involvement in the project spans across numerous disciplines including town planning, surveying, civil and structural engineering, water and sewer design, and project management. We have assisted with the delivery of the following key items:

  • Development consents for residential subdivision including Precinct 2, Precinct 3, Precincts North C & D, Precinct North E (medium density), Precinct South, Mears, Twine & Thompson.
  • A planning proposal to increase the permissible height limit around the Town Centre, enabling buildings of up to six storeys.
  • Engineering design supporting Subdivision Works Certificates for several stages amounting to hundreds of residential lots.
  • Project management, planning, design, and survey for the delivery of the ‘Cooranbong Park’ sports facility & playground, On-Site Sports Facility comprising AFL/cricket fields, a skate park and dog exercise area, and three local playgrounds. These assets are dedicated to Lake Macquarie City Council under a Voluntary Planning Agreement upon completion.
  • REF and engineering design and survey for signalised intersections at Patrick Drive and Deaves Road.
  • Detail survey, work-as-executed survey, and subdivision plans for several stages amounting to hundreds of residential lots.
  • Preparation of Site Analysis (Sales) Plans supporting each land release.
  • Construction supervision of civil structures, water and sewer infrastructure.
