Salvation Army Recovery Centre

Project Location: Dooralong Road, Dooralong
Project Details: DA for the Salvation Army Recovery Centre
Commenced: March 2010
Duration: December 2010
Project Manager: Adam Crampton

ADW Johnson worked closely with the Salvation Army and a team of sub consultants to prepare a development application seeking to change the use of the former Dooralong Resort to a Recovery Centre, providing assistance for people trying to recover from a range of addictions. The project required a number of issues to be resolved, including bushfire, Flora & Fauna, traffic, and dealing with a significant number of objections from local residents. ADW Johnson coordinated the resolution of all of these matters, as well as initiating substantial public consultation as part of a Social Impact Assessment. Our proactive project management style ensured a positive result for our clients, with Wyong Council issuing an approval for the use, despite several hundred objections being received.
