Midtown MacPark

The Midtown MacPark project is a high density urban renewal project located in Macquarie Park. The project aims to develop the existing "Ivanhoe Social Housing Estate" into a mixed use community consisting of 3300 residential, apartment and terrace style dwellings along with numerous community facilities.

The dwellings are to consist of a mix of market, affordable and social dwellings whilst the community facilities include a commercial pool and gym, open space, parks and playgrounds, community garden, a new public primary school, two childcare centres, and the regeneration of Shrimptons Creek.

Civil Engineering

The ADWJ team provided civil engineering design services of key infrastructure for the Midtown MacPark projcet including roads, earthworks, and stormwater infrastructure to enable built form development to commence. The project required complex construction staging which was incorporated into the civil design for a seemless delivery of each project component.

The civil design for the project required the detailed coordination of civil works around built form structures and structural elements to enable a functional and practical development.

Service Coordination

Our team coordinated stormwater, electrical, water, sewer, and NBN services with the design of other consultants to integrate essential services into the development. Being an urban infill development, there were numerous challenges involved in the project regarding existing services in and around the site which our engineering team had to account for.

Surveying

The ADWJ survey team provided detailed and contour survey services to facilitate the engineering design and construction of the development.

Sustainability

At a smidge over eight hectares—and with a full third of that put aside for open green space and conservation area—Midtown MacPark, the visionary new neighbourhood by Frasers Property Australia, brims with features that belie its village-like size. A short walk from Sydney’s top-ranked Macquarie University and the shops, restaurants, and recreation spots of Macquarie Centre, Midtown represents a new approach to creating socially vibrant and environmentally sustainable communities where everyone and everything is connected. According to Midtown’s Development Director Scott Clohessy, connection is the key theme of the project, with every feature and inclusion—no matter how small—part of a larger vision to create north-west Sydney’s most inclusive and connected new neighbourhood.

ADWJ have been instrumental from concept design to construction documentation at Midtown. Their communication, ability to work within a team and problem solving is second to none.
